On February 23, 2026, neighbors gathered at Christ Lutheran Church for our first general meeting of the year. We discussed goals for the neighborhood in years to come, heard the latest developments from our ANC Commissioner and bus barn community liaison, shared delicious hot chocolate and got to know each other a little better.

We wrapped the year with our December Quarterly Meeting and Cookie Swap. Over two dozen neighbors gathered to vote on the Executive Committee for the new year, plan another year’s worth of great events, and swap delicious homemade (and store-bought) cookies.

We had fun “Falling Into Community” with our neighbors and community representatives! Big thanks to Fortune Express for providing a delicious Chinese dinner for the over 60 attendees.

Our annual block party, held on the 1500 block of Allison Street, was a great success! Thanks to everyone who brought food, helped with activities, or otherwise aided to make the event so much fun for so many neighbors. We had at least 120 children in attendance.
Thanks to everyone who could gather at Cecelia’s on 8/23 for a porch party! We are looking forward to closing out summer at the annual block party on 9/13!
We had about 20 seniors join the senior social on May 21. Shelley Moskowitz from East Rock Creek Village was the guest speaker and shared her experiences supporting and being its member. It is also a great opportunity explore what a Senior Village could mean for us. It was also great to connect with neighbors from SSNA, CBENA and 16th St Heights Civic Association all of whom are collaborating to incubate a possible Senior Village to serve our neighborhoods.
