Our annual block party, held on the 1500 block of Allison Street, was a great success! Thanks to everyone who brought food, helped with activities, or otherwise aided to make the event so much fun for so many neighbors. We had at least 120 children in attendance.
Thanks to everyone who could gather at Cecelia’s on 8/23 for a porch party! We are looking forward to closing out summer at the annual block party on 9/13!
We had about 20 seniors join the senior social on May 21. Shelley Moskowitz from East Rock Creek Village was the guest speaker and shared her experiences supporting and being its member. It is also a great opportunity explore what a Senior Village could mean for us. It was also great to connect with neighbors from SSNA, CBENA and 16th St Heights Civic Association all of whom are collaborating to incubate a possible Senior Village to serve our neighborhoods.
Thanks to everyone who came out for our quarterly meeting! We had a fantastic dinner provided by Xelajus Bakery and a great turnout with over 75 people (adults and children!).

Thanks to everyone who met us on May 3rd for another SSNA clean up!
Hot Mic’d Punks gathered a great collection of youth bands on the 1400 block of Buchanan Street with bands performing from 2-7 pm on April 27th. This was the second annual festive street party celebrating alongside Petworth Porchfest.
Bands represented included Unknown Artist, Agitator, Zigarette, Katie and Damon of Bitter Glynnis, and others.
The newly formed Senior Committee met on April 16th at Atxondo. The meeting celebrated the end of tax season, was a chance to meet new friends and learn about group activities , especially about D.C. Village programs for seniors.
Ms. Eva Lucero, Executive Director of Dupont Circle Village, was the guest speaker.
About us: We are a newly organized group of SSNA and CBENA retirees/seniors committed to strengthening community social ties and to supporting seniors who may aspire to live independently, at home, as they age.
